About Muddy Maids
Muddy Maids began in January 2024 as a simple walking group and has quickly grown into a welcoming community of over 350 women across Cornwall.
Many women join their first walk not knowing anyone, and leave feeling like they’ve found a group of friends.
Muddy Maids is all about getting outdoors, feeling supported and enjoying the simple things. Fresh air, good conversation, laughter along the path and the feeling of doing something positive for yourself.
Whether you’re looking to meet new people, improve your wellbeing or simply spend more time outside, Muddy Maids offers a relaxed and supportive space to do just that.
What We’re About…
Muddy Maids is all about relaxed, social walks where everyone feels welcome. It’s not about speed, competition or fitness levels. We walk together, chat along the way and no one is ever left behind.
Our walks usually include a mix of abilities, so there’s always someone at your pace and plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, the fresh air and good conversation.
A café stop is almost always part of the plan too. Whether it’s a coffee, cake or brunch, it’s the perfect chance to sit down, chat properly and get to know everyone.
Many of our walks also end with an optional sea dip for anyone feeling brave enough, which has become a favourite part of the Muddy Maids experience.
More than anything, Muddy Maids is about creating a genuine sense of belonging. Many women come along not knowing anyone and quickly find themselves part of a supportive, welcoming community.

FAQs
Do you allow dogs on your walks?
No, unfortunately we don’t allow dogs on our walks. With so many members, we’ve found that including dogs doesn’t work as well. I plan the routes to be suitable for everyone, and while many dogs are well-behaved, not all are, which can create hazards given the number of people.
Are the walks suitable for all abilities?
Yes, I plan different walks with varying lengths and difficulty levels, so you can choose whatever feels comfortable for you. We’re more about being social than serious, so everyone is welcome!
Do you test the walks?
Yes, I test all walks before doing them and conduct checks before the day to ensure everything is safe and enjoyable for everyone.
What can I expect to see on a walk?
Our walks are social rather than serious, with time to chat, take in the views, and move at a comfortable pace. Most routes are either a scenic loop or an out-and-back walk, with a cosy café stop along the way for a hot drink and a catch-up.
